The Challenge
TRS was appointed by Deddington Parish Council to deliver the complete roofing refurbishment of the Windmill Community Centre. The existing roof had reached the end of its serviceable life and required complete replacement to protect the building for many years to come.
As a busy community centre, careful planning and effective site management were essential to deliver the project safely while maintaining a clean and organised working environment, with minimal disruption to this important community facility.
The Solution
TRS carried out a full roof replacement using a new 0.7mm trapezoidal [metal roofing](/services/metal-roofing) system, providing a durable, low-maintenance solution suitable for long-term performance.
Following completion of the roofing works, photovoltaic (PV) solar panels were installed on the south-facing roof slope, allowing the community centre to generate renewable energy and improve the building's long-term sustainability.
Systems installed
- 0.7 mm trapezoidal metal roofing
- Rooflights
- Rainwater goods
- Solar PV ready roof construction

Keeping the centre in use
Acting as Principal Contractor, TRS managed the project from start to finish over the 8-week programme, ensuring the works were delivered safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to this important community facility. Full perimeter scaffolding, controlled access and a clean, organised site allowed the centre to continue serving the community around the works.
Outcomes
The completed project has provided the Windmill Community Centre with a modern, durable and energy-efficient roofing system that will protect the building for decades to come.
The new roof has significantly enhanced both the appearance and performance of the building while creating the ideal platform for renewable energy generation.
Deddington Parish Council expressed their satisfaction with both the quality of the workmanship and the finished result.
